Title:To come later?
Who: The Tenth Doctor (and the TARDIS), Trunks Briefs (Mirai/Future), others...
What: The TARDIS takes the Doctor where he is needed, not necessarily where he wants to go.
Open/Closed: Closed.
Additional Details:TBD
The TARDIS Sensors indicate Age 787, Planet 4032-877b. More specifically, it's a variant of Earth--not surprising in some ways. But the continents and a map don't match some of the other more modern versions he's been to before. What could be wrong here?
Well, a look-around would tell him that. The city he arrived in looks like its seen better days, to be frank. It's a hive of demolished buildings and streets, debris and abandoned and scrapped vehicles everywhere. While there are hints of greenery, the large city looks like it's not been demolished long enough ago for it to start recovering from inhabitation, but there's certainly no regular inhabitants visible.

Date: 2017-01-23 11:41 pm (UTC)Not that he looked like a thug.
"Don't mind him. It's hard to believe we're actually having a year or more of peace, and everyone's still not sure if they trust it or not. I do appreciate his caution, but he really does take on too much." Fiddling for a moment with the tablet to put it in sleep-mode, then tucking it into a pocket on her belt.
"Capsule Corp is partially repaired, and most rebuilding has started around there, as it's a safe place to gather. We can give you a lift, if you're looking for refuge, after we check out those spikes." She seemed to assume he'd know who she was. MOST people still knew who she was.

Date: 2017-01-24 01:29 am (UTC)"Nowhere. I was cryogenically frozen since the start of the war." Ten takes out his psychic paper, "Doctor John Smith at Capsule Corp."
If they can scan him for being a robot cryogenics should be available tech. Hopefully, Ten knows he's rolling dice here.
"Righto. Sounds good."

Date: 2017-01-24 01:42 am (UTC)"Well Dr. Smith, it's been a long war, and we're glad it's over. At least we hope it's over. But that's part of why Trunks is so cautious." Gonna walk towards the car, pulling out a small capsule and clicking a button, then winging it at the car. A 'hoipoi' sound was heard, and smoke, and then the hovercar was gone, the capsule remaining as Bulma went to pick it up. "We've been monitoring and doing our best to keep alert, but scanning for them is hard when we're used to looking for ki, instead."
That done, she's gonna start walking back the way Ten came from. "Which is part of why we detected a weird spike of energy out here, and were on our way to investigate it. It's a lucky stroke we found you, Dr. Smith." A winning smile flashed his way, hoping he'd walk with her. "I'm Bulma Briefs"
Which, if even a shred of his story was true, means he should know who she is.

Date: 2017-01-24 01:53 am (UTC)Pretending to know who she is would probably be a good idea, now, "Really? Well, I can't believe I'm getting to meet you." The Doctor offers a professional handshake and wide smile.
On the way back to the TARDIS, Ten hopes that a Telephone Booth isn't something strange here.

Date: 2017-01-24 02:08 am (UTC)Shaking his hand, and walking as they talked. Even if she was much older, it was still nice to be treated at least a bit like a celebrity. It had been a long time... Some common places and basics about the attacks on the cities, horror stories about 17 and 18. Things that were a good form of 'small' talk and light probes for information. Bulma wouldn't lie she was relieved when Trunks was back in view, along with a large blue box.
It was an unusual design though, and Trunks looked bored as he was leaning against it. Pulling out her tablet again, as he spoke. "The rest of the area is still in ruins, this is the only thing that stands out." An eyebrow raise as well, as he continued. "And the door is locked."
Bulma resisted the urge to ask why he hadn't just broken in. Then again, maybe he was just being really cautious for once--that energy spike hadn't been like anything they had seen before after all.
Ignoring Dr. Smith for the moment, as she fiddled with the tablet, and that was curious. Moving closer to the large blue...police box? What was a Police Box? ...also brought her conveniently closer to Trunks.
Her smile dropping, and a faint worried look returning to her face, was all the warning her son needed, as he stepped in front of her while Bulma turned. Checking her scanner again, and leaning out slightly. "Why don't you unlock it, Dr. Smith? And maybe tell me some of the actual truth?"

Date: 2017-01-24 02:33 am (UTC)Ten meanwhile stands there silently watching the both of them. No. No. No She didn't just pick up on the properties of the TARDIS key in his inside his infinite suitcoat pocket.
"Sounds like you have some wires crossed in your device."

Date: 2017-01-24 02:41 am (UTC)"Cryogen...huh?" Not that Trunks was letting down his guard, even as he asked the question.
"Dr. John Smith here says he was frozen at the start of the war, and works for Capsule Corp." Came the quick explanation, which had Trunks narrowing his eyes. "Don't suppose you'd tell us what year that was, Dr. Smith?" He asked.

Date: 2017-01-24 02:57 am (UTC)"Capsule Corp had a secret project going on that was to preserve what scientists they could so society could be rebuilt after the war if need be. Nothing management would know about."

Date: 2017-01-24 03:14 am (UTC)"2 seconds." Trunks replied, readying a ki-burst. Low-power, but it'd be enough to make his point as a warning shot.
Still, the arrival of a vehicle crossing space & time wasn't likely to be noticed only by them. It was Bulma who first alerted the warning though, as her tablet-scanner let off a series of high pitched beeps in an alarm. Whipping around, trying to find the source, and there was now real fear in her voice at whatever she was sensing.
"Bigger problem, Trunks. Incoming!" Then she was diving for cover against a wall and partly under a roof from one of the building. Dr. Smith and any lies or truth were ignored for the moment, as Trunks whirled with the warning.
Putting himself in a position to keep an eye on their new arrival, as well as other directions. The trio didn't have long to wait--a bright burst of ki-energy was headed straight for the group. It seemed to mainly centered on Trunks, but would definitely scorch the Doctor if it hit.
Said demi-saiyan dodged backwards, alert as the asphalt had a new crater that was still slightly smoking. A new shape was coming into view, eventually hovering over the TARDIS. "Identification in progress." was the mechanical voice, red eyes scanning the group. "You are not Son Goku. You shall be eliminated."

Date: 2017-01-24 03:32 am (UTC)What the f*** was that? Robots that look like people. How do robots always seem to find The Doctor even outside of his own universe?
And still sound like a Dalek. But doesn't know how to fit this creature but robots are robots and all same to the same degree. All have circuitry. Ten's eyes quickly scan the area and nothing helpful he could use the sonic on.

Date: 2017-01-24 03:38 am (UTC)Unfortunately, that wasn't to be as the head turned around. "Humans. Give me the location of Son Goku or be eliminated." Holding out an arm with the palm up flat, energy gathering there in clear warning and preparation for an attack.
"Over my dead body!" Was the angry shouted reply, sword drawn and Trunks charging at the hovering android. Rapid strikes, a faint aura glowing around him. Parried easily by the Android's free arm, but at least his attention was once more off of Bulma and Ten.

Date: 2017-01-24 03:58 am (UTC)Several feet above the TARDIS however, the fight was still going on. Frustratingly so for Trunks, as...this version of Android 16 was easily as strong as the one in the past he'd encountered. Terrific. Energy flew, blows traded, before both fighters separated as they hovered in the air for a few seconds.
Each studying the other for the moment. Then 16 spoke, sounding curious. "You are not my target. You are related to him?"

Date: 2017-01-24 04:07 am (UTC)They'd both be safest in the TARDIS but - The Doctor eyes around quickly for other escape routes.

Date: 2017-01-24 04:18 am (UTC)A glare back at Smith, then back to watching. No one was dead, yet... A sigh of relief a moment later, when she saw a golden aura start to flare around Trunks as he powered up. Good, it'd provide cover for her--and he hadn't forgotten their contingency plan.
Trunks had put away the sword, studying the android as he started to power up to Super Saiyan mode. "We share the same heritage." Was the casual response, with a bright flare leaving golden hair where purple had been, and green eyes instead of blue. Wasting no time after that, charging once more. This time with a purpose, trying to push the Android back and away. Up, away from them.
It should cover any noise, as she was looking for a suitable space...there. Pointing to another ruin across the street, larger and shaded in the shadow of another building. "There, we go there." She hissed, pulling out the capsule case from her belt as she started to move.

Date: 2017-01-24 04:27 am (UTC)Gonna focus on Bulma/Ten for a moment. ^^
Date: 2017-01-24 04:32 am (UTC)Bulma moving to get the hood open. "Come help me rewire this. If he had to go super saiyan that fast, this opponent is strong." Still whispering, but a louder whisper. Outside were clear shouts of battle, and energy blows being traded. Occasionally an impact and the sound of bodies impacting structures, but it never lasted for long.

Date: 2017-01-24 04:37 am (UTC)"I'm The Doctor. What made the energy spike is my ship out thar. That Police Box. Fell through a crack in the universe. And - we'd both be very smart to get inside her."

Date: 2017-01-24 04:44 am (UTC)"Our plan, once I've rigged this to blow with a timer, is to get back to Capsule Corp. Right now your box is NOT safe, since there are two very powerful fighters having a battle near it." Talking as she reprogrammed, and accepting his help. "Help me remove the limiters for the hover-tech power source here..." Coding...and some jury-rigging.

Date: 2017-01-24 04:56 am (UTC)"We run for your box, but when this goes off, it'll give Trunks cover too. The original plan was to head back home...." A few more buttons pressed, then she's slamming the hood shut.
