Genessia-AU
Background Setting: Based on the Genessia Dreamwidth game for ease and continuing CR. There are 5 cities, 4 arranged at cardinal points around a central one (Genessia City). Each city is reached through an archway, and the cities themselves are surrounded by Shields. Breaking these shields is a *bad* idea, as there are spirits outside and what they want hasn't fully been determined yet. Just to begin with.
Each of the cities has their own 'theme' and setting of sorts, with Genessia in the center being where most everyone arrives and the most 'blandly' modern of sorts.
World-wise, not much has changed greatly since Cassian Andor and K2SO vanished. People come, and people go, and sadly people are no closer to finding the reasons why or the specifics of 'how'. A few of the new arrivals have actually stirred up quite a bit of trouble. The biggest of these being a God (or at least they claimed to be), trying to claim the entire city of Fayren for their own.
That hadn't gone down well at all, and certainly not without a fight.
Perhaps that was the tipping point, or maybe Shigaraki's assault on Bulla and calling out of 'heroes' were working. Certainly heroes like Bakugo (before he'd vanished) weren't helpful with 'good' publicity to counteract it. It was an issue that affected all cities, and permeated all of them, with no clear answer.
How do ordinary people without special abilities deal with those who did have them? What protection was there, other than relying on those who were 'good' with powers? How much was too much?
An appeal to the so-called God's pride (and perhaps arrogance on their part) had seen them challenge all comers in the Coliseum, but that was the only place that could really contain the energies and damage involved.
It was a low murmur of unrest, not yet a powder keg. But it was there, along with discussions again of just what the role of "guardians" were vs. usual law-enforcement or bounty-hunting. In addition to the usual interpersonal conflicts, with not everyone able to leave old grudges behind.
OOC: Suggest we start with Cass/K2's return? However you guys would like to do so.

Date: 2020-01-03 08:44 pm (UTC)K2SO it's almost sure it's been months, as he stares the street in front of them, Cassian by his side. It's Attleton, that much he can tell. It looks both familiar and alien. A moment later white optics shift to his shorter companion again, a far too long arm reaches out and a metal hand is placed at Cassian's lower back. It's almost as if Kay wants to make sure Cassian is real, as if he wants to make sure his touch sensors aren't messed up like his databanks.
It's been months but he doesn't remember any of it. His last clear memories are about them telling their friend that they were going to explore the planet, to look after their pets. Then...Nothing. Flashed of images here and there but nothing clear. Cassians' face, rocks, maybe spirits, a sky full of stars he doesn't recognize...all blurry and mixed and undetailed.
"We're back."
There's uncertainty in Kay's voice, the statement hiding a question 'Hod did we go back?'. He doesn't even remember walking towards the cities. The idea that Cassian might have whipped his memory doesn't even cross his processor. He knows this man. His best friend. His...
Kay brings his other hand in front of his optics, and sure enough, there's the engagement ring Cassian gave him, welded to the third finger on his left hand. A droid can't visible relax but Kay's shoulders obviously shift in relief.

Date: 2020-01-10 04:40 pm (UTC)He inspects their surroundings with keen, attentive eyes, yet the fact that he remains firmly glued to K-2SO's side during this may be far more telling about his state of mind than he would like it to be. His head is aching and feels scrambled as if he had gone one round too many with an Imperial interrogation droid but he remembers Attleton, even if he doesn't remember how they got back here, or from where they returned.
"Can you tell how much time has passed?" he asks quietly. It is evening and the streets are mostly deserted but not completely, which is a good sign. "We should go to the Guardian's office. Or... home." He hesitates at this. With people constantly coming and going, Sonico might be gone. Chances were, there would be other people living there now, whether with her or alone.
A grim little smile flickers over his face. "Knowing us, I wouldn't be surprised if we reappeared during some grand catastrophe." His hand finds Kay's hip, fingers brushing it in wordless reassurance.
