To that she actually laughed as well, though one hand came up quickly to cover her mouth. "If you were any more calm and confident, I wouldn't be. But this is... comfortable. Much more so than I would have expected."
More laughter and some quick steps over to her. Reaching up to take her hand, bringing it to his mouth for a quick kiss. "Give me time, and I might be." A hint of taunt, but mostly just appreciation. This was comfortable, which was giving him confidence and courage.
"It is comfortable though, and I'm glad." Still holding her hand, but now Trunks leaned in to kiss her softly. Just soft, no pressure for more, but enjoying.
She responded willingly enough, leaning in to meet him. This really was comfortable, though she certainly didn't understand why. But somehow, she still felt entirely in control.
"You do look good," she murmured once their lips parted.
One last nervous chuckle and he leaned his forehead against her own. "...Thank you." Definitely shy as he leaned in again to kiss her softly in thanks. Holding it for a moment and squeezing her hand one last time before pulling back.
"And now, I really should change. So should you." Although he wouldn't kick her out...he knew he'd definitely be bright red if she did stay.
"Of course." She nodded, giving his hand a squeeze in turn before releasing it and turning. Back to her own room, to change responsibly... but not without an appreciative backwards glance.
Leaning against the wall, much as she had and still red. But holding her gaze, and with the glance his head ducked slightly. Even if he offered a quiet little smirk while watching her go.
Once she was in her room, he shook his head at himself to try and get the last of his nerves out. Then went to change and pack properly. It wasn't too long before he knocked on her door, waiting outside with a bag over his shoulder with towels and a water-bottle or two. Dressed 'casually' in a white tank-top under a pale orange button up shirt. Lightweight, sleeves rolled up, with brown slip on shoes. Her suggestion had been a good one though, although the dark blue swim-trunks weren't entirely obvious as a swimsuit.
On her side, she paused to catch her breath -- which she was quite surprised to be short of, once she realized it -- then turned to dressing herself. With two layers to wrangle, she took a little longer than he did; when next she reappeared, it was in an outfit that looked a little more like early fall than mid-summer, with its modest blouse and pants. She'd conceded on two points, though; she wore sandals, and no hat. In fact, she'd gotten so bold as to let her hair down entirely.
Trunks had been prepared to wait, although he expected she wouldn't take that much longer than him. For all her nerves and inexperience, she still was too much 'special inquisitor'--too military, to take too long.
Her hair being down however, struck him first. Before her more casual attire. His mouth opened slightly, eyes widening just a bit too as he noticed just how long it was. Trying to be discreet, as he took a breath in and out, before smiling. "Decide if we're doing the beach or the aquarium first?"
"The aquarium, I think. We'll be quite wet after the beach." Putting on clothing over a soaking swimsuit? No thanks. She would put up with such things without complaint ordinarily, but not on vacation, not when she didn't have to.
"A good plan. We can see what kind of wild-life they have here, before we encounter it in the wild. All set?" Making sure she had anything she needed, although he'd packed towels. They would both need their omni-bands since that contained currency and any access codes needed but the tech had certainly been through worse than just a wetting.
Once they were ready though, it wasn't far from the resort-hotel. Outside under the pale yellow-green sky, 2 suns and 1 moon seen low in the sky as they moved away from the hotel. The Daoung Resort had clearly marked paths, sandy-colored brick work interspersed with fountains. Flora was in bright red and orange colors, with hints of green, against darker red-purple ground.
Following the path towards the aquarium, the glass building bordered the beach--striking against dark blue-green water and a mix of tan and purple sandy-beach. Clearly marked off though, and designed with two above ground levels--the entrance containing information and skeletons, along with smaller exhibits for touch and tiny animals that were more friendly. The second floor held more flora and some fauna, not unlike various rain forests. A riot of bright colors and light and shadows, and humid.
Below the surface levels, the aquarium merged in part with some of the beach to provide sanctuary for native species to the planet. Also exhibits for conservation, and basic education!
All her needs came in a small pack, slung over her shoulders in such a way that she'd barely notice the weight. Actually it probably weighed less than her military uniform.
She did her very best not to gape and gawp, but nonetheless a certain amount of wonder shone in her eyes at the sights around them. Less so than when they'd first embarked on their journey, to be sure, but even now she hadn't been jaded to the wonders held on planets not her own.
"Come this way," she said, not really meaning as quite the command it sounded even as she tugged him over to a tank about waist-height. Leaning over, they could look down on strange creatures that looked more like liquid pools than actual organic beings, rolling and sloshing about on the bottom of the tank in some feeding ritual.
Trunks had, in theory, been two a different 'planet'--even if it was also the very same planet just in a different timeline. Certainly it had seemed strange enough, considering the differences in timeline. Like Morag, he tried not to gape, but wouldn't hide the wonder in his own eyes. Some of the skeletons were huge, and he was enough his mother's son to actually enjoy reading about how the giant creature's bones and habitats.
A soft laugh came in response to her words, and Trunks let himself be tugged easily with a grin to the display. It was fascinating--and reminded Trunks as if an spilled-oil had somehow become alive, from how easily they moved. Like liquid pools. "We don't have anything like this on my planet. How about you?"
Curiosity and wonder in his eyes, as he knelt down to watch the creatures more on their level through the tank.
"Not in the least. And it's nice to see wildlife that doesn't want me for a snack, I might add." She smiled down at the weird creature, her arms folded on the thick edge of the tank. "Just open to the air, yet it has no idea we're here."
Her comment brought a low chuckle. "Sadly, most of the critters that might want me for a snack don't exist. At least the above-ground ones. I haven't encountered any in the waters yet, but I also haven't spent as much time in the water as others."
Coming out of his crouch and leaning with her as they watched. "Are we heading up to the Rain Forest area, or down to where they have more live critters?"
His was right there to meet it, curling around her own with a soft squeeze as they headed to the ramp. Going down, the ramp wound around and through the exhibits. Closest to the top were mid-size and smaller creatures, a blend of shelled and soft-bodied creatures. Some resembled Earth animals mixed together, while others seemed completely alien to the pair. The low lighting helped highlight the bio-luminescence of various creatures and water-plant life.
As they went deeper, the exhibits grew larger and more dangerous. Beings in their mating cycles, where the males were separated because of their heightened aggression from the females. They were also kept an eye on, as their were fights between the males, with displays of teeth and fins and antennae. Deeper still, on the bottom level were exhibits about the native life of the planet.
"Some of these look a little familiar. Others..." She stopped at one particular glass pane, window into a deep and dark tank where long, sleek creatures rotated through the water with apparent but inscrutable purpose. To simply watch such creatures without worry for what harm they might cause or whether or not they would attack her was a rare treat indeed.
"I know. Kind of makes you wonder how they'd capture creatures." Wide-eyes with curiosity and wonder, voice soft. "Maybe the raise them from when they're young?" Moving to join her at the same tank, watching the long sleek creatures. As they watched, occasionally, there was a pulse of light, moving from one creature to another in a wave across the school. Sparking slightly in the water.
"Kind of glad we don't have to worry about them zapping us too."
"That would be safest." Which didn't mean that it was the way they used, of course. "I have told you something about Titans, and how we modify them for our use, have I not?"
