After that first test of her swords and tech, it had been a few days before they'd tried again. Both acting fairly normal, albeit Trunks slightly more withdrawn when they were in a group. No amount of teasing from George got him a verbal answer either--and Tylor didn't seem to be at all worried about it. Joy was either willfully (and politely) oblivious, or actually so. It didn't interfere with the crew's month of rest though, before they were off again on more missions.
A few of which were changes of pace, to outright exploring and mapping, cataloging, collecting information. These given by a new Being instead of Baladeva, one who seemed more curious and almost younger. These missions were dangerous in a different way than their usual kind, if only because they weren't sure just what they'd always be dealing with.
Ganyma seemed to be in favor of heading into the unknown or lesser known areas.
It made for some interesting changes of pace for the crew.
Fortunately, any potential awkwardness between two of the 5 crew members did not interfere with their missions. Not beyond any usual awkwardness that they all experienced at various parts as they grew closer together in some ways. A bit more open, slowly becoming more cohesive than just purely a crew that worked well and was thrown together.
They were actually on their way to another station for another good month of rest and relaxation. This time after a little over 3 months worth of missions almost non-stop. All of them were looking forward to the break, and at least one was planning some 'helpful' mischief along the way.
Trunks was going to have words with that scheming wizard; mostly because if he used his fists he wouldn't guarantee the safety of George's nose. Once he got loose that is.
The damn prankster had caught him unaware with a spell, blindfolded and gagged him, and then done something to the damn ropes because Trunks couldn't break 'em. He'd been trying for the last 10 minutes at least. George had removed the spell as soon as he had Trunks tied up securely. "Sorry Mate, 's for your own good! Promise."
Damn magic.
Which is how Trunks found himself securely tied up from head to toe, leaning against a wall, in the dark. Against metal and wood paneling, and he could guess it was a closet on the ship. Not too far down from the kitchen, his nose told him, between the scent of spices and cleaning supplies.
"Don't worry, you'll be free soon! Just gotta get the right person to do so!" There hadn't been much space in the...whatever it was space...before Trunks was shoved in and the only saving grace was that he wasn't that tall. George had shoved something against his chest and the ropes there, before closing the door and Trunks could feel the other's ki signature receding.
Oh yes, there would be words--and hopefully Trunks could keep his temper so he didn't break either his friends' face OR his wand for this.
Luckily, he did not need to wait too long. Coaxed in by a glib lie from the wizard, in came Mòrag, casually hitting the lights as she did. The sight before her was so unexpected that even someone as professional and steadfast as she was could do nothing more than gape for a minute.
"Trunks!" she said, and as if the name jolted her to action, she dashed forwards to free him, starting with the gag. Behind her, the door swung shut, and clicked quietly enough that she missed it entirely.
George had planned this well, as Trunks had let out a groan behind the gag when he sensed the wizard's return via ki. With Morag; which prompted some more struggling against the ropes for any kind of loosening. Which meant his eyes didn't exactly widen, the way Morag's did, but he shook his head 'no' and tried to jerk it towards the door.
He heard a faint chuckle as well as the door clicking quietly shut. Along with the lock engaging, and something else he couldn't quite make out. Probably a spell, but they'd have to find out in a minute.
First though, thanks to Morag removing the gag, Trunks took a deep breath. "What did he tell you, since he didn't ambush you the way he did me." Voice slightly lower, because oh he was starting to get angry.
"He needed me to get a heavy box from in here." She turned her attention to the knots, next, wondering if she would be able to free him. Clearly something had been done to these ropes to prevent him simply breaking out, though that wouldn't stop her from trying.
"If you can get my wrists..." Trunks offered, trying to shift a bit so she could see the problem. In addition to tying him from chest to knee, George had managed to get Trunks' arms behind him, wrists bound at the small of his back. It didn't exactly offer him much leverage, not that he was having much luck moving anyways.
Unfortunately, there was not much room at all in the storage space now that they were both in there. Even if he weren't tied up, it would be difficult to avoid contact. Right then Trunks was too frustrated-angry to be too aware of that close-ness.
George had been incredibly thorough. She might be impressed if she weren't irritated. "Yes, I see," she said, leaning into him so she could get her hands behind him. Not much room to turn him around, though if this didn't work she'd have to try...
Unfortunately Trunks was still blindfolded, which meant he could only help so much. He stilled when she leaned into him, tilting his head up and away to try and give her room. It wasn't that would object to her help, or was unused to hugs.
But he'd made her uncomfortable when they'd been close before during sparring, and he didn't want that. He also was also too aware of her leaning in and against him. Necessary maybe....
"Mmm. Tricky." She shifted slightly against him, trying to get a better angle. The ship uniform was a lot thinner than here usual outfit, so this was a little awkward, but hardly any cause to abandon him. She hoped it wasn't irritating him too much.
Irritated yes, but not with her. If anything, Trunks was very very still. Perhaps a bit glad even for the rope (or he would be if he weren't still angry) wrapped around his chest and keeping them from being that much closer.
"If I break his nose, I'm pretty sure I can manage to do so without killing him, and it'll be the easiest for Joy to fix. What do you think?"
"I think there can't be as much malice in his actions as it seems. That isn't like him." There. The ropes around his wrist began to loosen as she worked loose one loop from the main knot, and began threading it through the others. "I should have you out of here momentarily. My apologies that I had to be the one to aid you."
"I appreciate the help, actually. And I'm not sure if I care that this was malicious or not." Trunks grit that latter part out, not quite a growl. "...why are you apologizing?" Because that had just hit him.
Her eyebrows lowered slightly, though she wasn't looking at him. Quite deliberately, in fact, considering he was apparently playing innocent. "I've noticed you becoming more irritated by my presence lately."
"Right now the only one I'm irritated at is George." It was snarky, not entirely like their banter had been during that initial sparring. Feeling her fingers moving against his back as she worked at the knot, Trunks shifted his arms a bit.
Now that she'd started to loosen it, he might be able to slip a wrist free.
"I've noticed you tensing up and becoming more formal in my presence, so don't pretend otherwise." Now she flicked her gaze up to glare at him, even as she yanked the worst of the knot free. Then she realized her glaring was having little effect, and while he freed his wrists, she straightened up to tug the blindfold off.
He blinked slightly as she pulled the blindfold off, managing to pull a wrist free. Which made freeing his other wrist easier. "I'm not irritated with you." Said while keeping his face turned away.
Some shifting, flexing, and a little wriggling, and he had managed to get his arms around in front of him, even if not fully free yet. Trunks was doing his best to lean as much away from her as he could. Anger was still providing a different heat that thankfully meant he wasn't blushing.
Mòrag simply sighed. So he was going to play innocent even further. "What next?" she asked, leaning back against the door so she wasn't pressed up against him any more. Not that much space separated them even so.
"He's probably locked and cast some spell on the door, but try it anyways?" Trunks offered, turning his head and trying to look down and get a good look at the bonds on his ankles and around him otherwise.
A hint of red against the rope caught the corner of his eye. "Wait...what's that?" Then there was a frustrated noise. "He put something on me after he tied me up?" Indignation made his voice rise slightly, warring with disbelief.
"A bow. You've been wrapped up like a package." Okay, that she did find a little funny, though she did her best to keep an even tone. "And a note, no less."
While he worked the ropes, she reached out and plucked it free, glancing over it. And then turning a little red as she stiffened.
"Har har...Really, he's too funny." Trunks snarked, rolling his eyes before glancing around the space they did have. Maybe he could get up higher, and then bend so he could get the knot at his knees?
Of course, that made him notice her blushing too.
"I'm almost afraid to ask what it says." With a groan, as Trunks could make some good guesses.
The wizard had even made the words light up and flicker.
Would you two snog already? <3 George on the white paper, followed by a post-script that kept fading in and out. 'snog' apparently meaning kiss.
Trunks groaned, and let his head fall back sharply against the wall, eyes closing. Grimacing, and trying to remind himself that the other was trying to help. Really, he couldn't kill him--even if Trunks was considering it.
"He appears to have mistaken your tension around me for... something else." Mòrag cleared her throat, semiconsciously aware that she was glossing over the reverse something fierce. But then, attraction was nothing she knew how to admit.
That just brought a sigh, and Trunks leaned his head against the wall again. Hard, ignoring the thump. "Morag...I'm guessing your upbringing was about as normal as mine, probably less." Softly voiced, resigned a bit too. "George isn't mistaking the tension, at least for me. But it's my problem to deal with." Another pause, and a deep breath. "I've been trying to not make you uncomfortable as well, just because I am."
"...I beg your pardon?" She slowly pushed herself off the door and fully upright, peering at him as if he had grown a third head. Had he just said what it sounded like? Or had she completely misread what he meant?
