The Explorer's Craft was a smaller ship--maxed at 15 people. The Arethusa was nice for all of that, and still in the early stages of its Exploration. Only 1/3rd staffed, it had just brought on two new crew-members.
Current Crew consisted of Professor John Robinson as the Captain, Gune in Engineering, "Nurse" Joy in Medical, and general crew members Jayne Cobb and Turanga Leela. It seemed an easy going (mostly) ship, and the current crew was treated to an announcement on their Omni-band at the arrival of 2 new crew-members along with their vital-statistics (height, weight, age, place of origin, general skills). Professor Robinson seemed fairly hands off and willing to delegate things, as the Arethusa was currently en-route. Their 'mission' for this exploration was to visit a resort planet, and study it's economy and how it remained so Utopian. Gune was nice, if easily distractable, and the only 'obvious' alien although some suspected Leela. Jayne mostly spent his time verbally sparring with Leela or keeping to himself, while Nurse Joy simply seemed content and willing to help. Curious at times, and clearly intelligent, but she wasn't one to make waves if they weren't needed.
Information on the Omniband
Name:
Age:
Height/Weight:
Place of Origin:
Skills:
Each crew-member wakes up in their bunk, wearing the ship's uniform. They will have some possessions from home. (The uniform is generally black boots, blue BDU pants and Jacket with a name patch, and a black t-shirt or tank-top underneath.) Each crew-member also posesses an omni-band. A small ring-like device that is designed to be worn like a collar or a bracelet, and that can be expanded or contracted. It may act as a communicator and mini-computer.

Date: 2017-01-28 07:09 am (UTC)"Please, just call me Trunks?" Said crew-member in question murmured, to Jayne's continued amusement. Slapping his hand over his heart. "Clear Skies boy, whoever named ya musta been drunk or somethin'. Musta been bullied a lot growing up too."
Jayne had the biggest shit-eating grin as he continued to probe.
Trunks just held himself steady and tall, refusing to rise to the bait. He'd been bullied far more than the other man would ever know, but it could wait. They should try to get along at least. "She almost crashed into me, and then we were walking down to the Loading Dock, when she tripped." Ignoring Jayne's remarks in favor of giving Nurse Joy that information.
"I see." Joy murmured, as she'd run the wand-scanner along but away from Thea's side. A friendly smile. "The good news is, whatever happened, our hosts saw fit to heal you on your arrival. Likely the rush of whatever happened, along with the sudden healing and new circumstances caused the vertigo."

Date: 2017-01-28 07:27 am (UTC)Jayne wouldn't admit it, but he was mildly impressed a bit. Didn't mean he'd *show* it, or let up. "Think babysittin's light enough duty for me Joy? I can watch her."
Joy's smile stayed in place, but there was a hint of amusement in her eyes as the smile grew. "But Mr. Cobb, if she does feel faint or dizzy, I don't think you should be lifting or carrying her in your state."
"Pfft." Jayne looked mildly insulted, hands on his hips and chin up. "She wouldn't be heavy, little thing like her."
"She has a name. Thea." Trunks commented quietly but firm all the same.
Joy's smile stayed the same, expression as serene as ever--but with a hint of steel under the tone. "Be that as it may, Mr. Cobb--Trunks has clearly shown he's capable of handling it. If that's okay with you Ms. Queen."

Date: 2017-01-29 05:59 am (UTC)"Time ta 'adjust'..." Jayne snorted, eyeing them. "Sure sure. Ya know where to find me if ya need something Joy." Another smirk and hint of challenge as he eyed Trunks once more. "Call me if ya need help, Pretty Boy."
Nurse Joy just smiled, but with that hint of steel again. "I'm sure he's able to watch Ms. Queen and make sure she rests. I can leave it in your hands, right Trunks?" Hands clasped in front of her, expecting his agreement.
Going from holding himself and resisting the urge to rise to the bait Jayne shot at him, and then to being given an order took him a moment. "Ye-yes." A little taken aback, like he hadn't expected to be given the task.
"Then it's settled. Besides, it can be quite an adjustment for all of us, arriving here." Clear that Nurse Joy was having the last word, as she turned her attention back to Jayne. "Actually Mr. Cobb, I would like your help with something..."
The taller man perked up with a hint of grin, as she lead the way further into medical.
Coming over to Thea, now that the initial crisis was over, Trunks relaxed a little and seemed almost awkward.

Date: 2017-01-29 01:42 pm (UTC)"Well, she said food wasn't a bad idea." Some of it might've been his heritage speaking too. "Let's see how you do with the walk to the kitchen area." Offering his hand to help steady her still, but willing to let her walk on her own. He recognized that spirit in her eyes.
"When I woke up, this-?" Holding up his left wrist where the 'omniband' was a slim silver band around it. "-apparently beeped. If-If I remember correctly..." Trunks's own memories of any explanations hazy. "...it's our main way of communicating and getting information." Hand dropping back to his side, as he'll continue the explanation as they move.
"It expanded outwards and showed a vision of a small hologram and screen. Had a small bio of me, and you. Probably to let the rest of the crew know who we are." That was how he'd recognized (along with a guess) that she was also new. "And yeah, I also had some of my stuff from home, including my sword."
Once they were settled in the now-vacant kitchen area--at least with her seated, while he tried to figure out the replicator and what was in the pantry--he'd play with the omniband. "My name is Trunks Briefs. I'm 20 years old; almost 21. From Earth. West City, Region 28, main continent. Age 785...from an alternate timeline."
Well, he'd managed to figure it out enough to produce rice and tea from the replicator at least. Bringing over two trays, sliding one towards her as he settled into the chair opposite. "I'll see if I can get it to pull up the hologram again. After food though."

Date: 2017-01-29 09:08 pm (UTC)Only then did he murmur a quiet 'thank you for the food' over his own dish, before starting to eat. Getting at least a mouthful or two in, and fairly well-mannered for someone with Saiyan-blood, before he responded again. "Considering it sounds like you were pulled from something bad, I wouldn't be embarrassed."
Another pause, tea half-way to his mouth and a hint of a distant look in his eyes. Half-for her, half for himself, as he speaks again. "Falling down, failing...it's the hardest thing. But its getting back up that matters." Something he'd learned so many times the hard way himself.

Date: 2017-01-30 02:56 am (UTC)After being quiet for a bit, he stuck his hands in his pockets as he leaned against the counter for a moment. "So maybe time to get yourself cleaned up and find somewhere to sit." Given that spirit he'd seen in her eyes earlier, he was willing to bet the last thing she wanted was to sit and rest.
Nurse Joy HAD somewhat given him responsibility though.

No one could say he didn't take his responsibilities seriously. Quieter now, although he responded if spoken to. Once she was cleaner, they headed off again towards the lower deck as he pointed out the helm area that he'd found earlier. It also was the control center of the ship, apparently--and he was guessing if they went lower they'd find the engines as well as that loading dock.

Date: 2017-01-30 04:58 am (UTC)"Nurse Joy did say you should rest." Trunks commented, looking around at the space they found themselves in. Large enough to hold small single-pilot craft, if he had to guess. Bare deck with places along the walls to secure straps or cargo. Curiouser still, considering he didn't know what was really expected of them yet.
