Date: 2021-08-13 05:11 am (UTC)Truthfully, he still didn't quite trust his 'benefactors'--and would take his time so that he worded his 'wish' very carefully indeed. Maybe it was best Loki was a solitary Explorer then. Less people to potentially involve and make things complicated.
He had earned his break however, at the waystation. A rare chance to resupply, to get off of the ship. No matter how nice a ship it was, or he made it, it was still not home. But then, home didn't exist anymore either. Checking his omniband, Loki found the inventory and map of the waystation, and his eyebrows shot up. A library! Truly?
Well, now he knew exactly where he was going first.
The stations were the only time he bothered wearing the actual 'uniform', and he found it so dull to be doing so. But it had been a polite request, and he'd seen the value in it if only for the brief times he did make other Explorer's acquaintances. It was an annoyance, but tolerable. Unlike other's however, his at least was black. Nor did he bear a normal 'role'--only a patch saying "Agent". Loki had taken off the patch bearing 'Odinson'--as he wished to be known on his own terms.
Quite a sight though, tall form striding down the hall in all black with only "Agent" on his jacket, blue-green eyes taking in everything even though he walked with a purpose.

Sebastian wore his uniform when working, but preferred his more casual clothes when off duty, but on the stations it was always his uniform with some accessories because despite the temperature being comfortable he always felt cold and wore layers and scarves.

Although that might've been his benefactor's work--as Loki had yet to encounter a language written on the stations that he didn't recognize. Or one spoken either, the few times he interacted with other Explorer's.
He has a small selection in one arm when he's jostled, turning to look at the other with a frown. The mumbled apology mollifies him a little, as Loki just raises an eyebrow. Studying the other, noting how hunched into his uniform (and hiding under layers) he is.

None of their uniforms had ship-names, but it gave him what role the other played beyond just general crew. And a last name...probably Midgardian, although Hokori would not have sounded out of place in Vanaheim.
"Somehow I suspect you're not here resupplying for your ship, Hokori Son-of-Ander." Loki deliberately choose to use an older interpretation of the other's name. Testing a bit.

Date: 2021-08-15 04:33 am (UTC)It was an amusing train of thought until he blinked at the way the Agent said his name. It took him a moment to make the connection and that too had him wondering who this Agent was and where he'd come from.
"Hokori is my mothers family name. Anderson is my fathers. There is a book where characters names reference their fathers, so I suppose it could be interpreted as Son of Ander."
He was holding that book now and had no intention of giving it up. This one he owned.
"Do you have a name or should I call you Agent?"

"We all die sometime. Would it be worth it to know the secret? If the secret it's not worth death then I don't think I want to know."

That's what I've gathered based on my experience." A pause, and he pulled another book out and added it to his pile. "I am Loki of Asgard."

"Loki." The name seemed a little familiar. "There is a story about a mask created by a God named Loki. God of Chaos and Mischief. A Norse God, I believe. Anyone wearing the mask would be...possessed by the spirit of the God? Or it's magic. I can't remember the details. It's not a name you hear often."

Date: 2021-08-15 05:35 am (UTC)"You know the myths about Loki. Were you named after him?"
It didn't occur to him that Loki was suggesting he was the God of Chaos and Mischief. Only that he was saying the myths were true, except for the one about the mask, and teasing that he himself had never created such a mask. Gods weren't real so he couldn't imagine actually meeting one in person.
