It helped that Mai found most everything boring; granted--less boring than back home (and stuck in prison) but still boring. The people were many of the same types you found everywhere, even if their backgrounds had interesting points or they had interesting abilities. Some of it was no doubt-her, as she didn't exactly go out of her way to make friends. Not the way Ty Lee would've, or Azula...
But that was fine with Mai.
One of the very few she would count as 'friend', was now standing opposite of her on the drab blue-padded fabric covered mat. A far cry from the wooden or rush-mats she'd seen in training halls back home. This building was more like the prison, in her estimation--cold white stone walls, albeit the large windows were a major security risk.
Oh well.
"...how did I let you talk me into this again, Hei?" Mai dressed as she usually did, weapons included. No problem pronouncing his name either, nor did he have pronouncing hers properly--unlike some who couldn't seem to get the intonations right. It certainly didn't endear them to Mai any. Nor had the fussing about how she wasn't wearing proper 'training' clothing.
This was the clothing she fought in, and moved in, and she preferred it honestly. Aside from the make-up, the Kiyoshi warrior's garb hadn't been too bad either. Even if it was too colorful as well.
Typical modern-ish-Jam-jar setting okay?
