It helped that they were near-equal in height, so shifting slightly down a step meant he could catch her. It was a good position to keep her from falling more as well. Normally he'd also be a lot more shy, but she was clearly not okay. He'll apologize later if he needs to; crisis now.
"You said you came in bleeding right? Sure you should be up and about already?"
