Trunks listened quietly and was patient. Nor did he pry, and after that statement he was quiet for a few more seconds. "Knowing she's safe, it doesn't mean you don't feel guilty. For leaving her behind." He didn't ask if it was the Doctor's fault the other was trapped.

There was understanding there--leaving behind others and knowing they were safe was a good thing, a satisfying thing. But at the same time, Trunks would admit to some slight jealousy. Even as things were becoming better for his world, he mourned at times the glimpse of things he could've had, were his world different.

Several more minutes of silent companionship, and then his brow furrowed as he thought over what the Doctor said. "I'd be more concerned about damaging your Tardis. Knocking him out is harder to do than it is to say." Nothing about the reprogramming--and while Trunks would take out Android 16 without a second thought if he needed to for their safety, he knew his Mother--and now the Doctor--would at least want to try to reprogram him.
