Ten gives Trunks a slow, it's alright eye signal back. It's all his fault. His fault for finding Rose in his former incarnation. His fault for being so lonely that he offers her a ride. His fault that ended up caring for her - as Ten remembers being Henry's alien museum and finding the 'last' Dalek. His fault that he gave his life for saving hers and for -
falling in love with her. And wanting to tell her. Having moments when he could. And still couldn't verbalize that.
His fault for losing her.
Ten takes the handkerchief and gives Trunks a weak smile and dabs his eyes.
When he believes he's alone, "I'm so sorry my Rose. So very sorry. I should have been able to save you." Then screams in rage, "Why did I fall in love with you?"
Then a pause and on a softer note, "Why couldn't I tell you?"
