He heard they're giving him an out - and inwardly sighs because he can't go now with this mess. He just can't and is inwardly frustrated that he just can't walk away. Even if that means - maybe being trapped here in this alternate universe.
The only way that that robot wouldn't track The Doctor is by powering down his ship and powers down The Tardis to minimum power.
"Alright! Next we'll have to set a trap. And then - someone will have to knock him out. And while he's knocked out he can be reprogrammed."
