Yuffie makes sure to dress well as she walked in to see her father. She didn't much care for his official audiences but she found it hard to argue with a dying man. In the last few months she's learned everything she missed out on a child. How to walk, properly address people, ceremonies, and every tiny bit of information about court and politics. The dull green kimono fell of her shoulders and with her hair tied up she almost looked like her mother. There were paper cranes twisted into her hair which had been artfully gathered to the left of her head. Her pale skin was accented by a bright red across her lips and a dark brown emphasizing her dark lashes.
To say that Yuffie was displeased by the news was an understatement. Her mouth dropped open as her father passed a file to her, filled with pictures and information about her suitors. She didn't even touch the folder before turning and leaving.
She couldn't move quickly but she manged to gather the trailing fabric of her kimono in her hands as she bolted from the building. She wanted to be strong enough for Wutai and yet her father asked this of her... it was more than her heart could take because she knew that it would mean the end of her fathers life should she get married. Wutai would officially become hers and her husbands and he'd have nothing else to live for. How could she even think of that? Added to the fact that she wasn't even allowed to fall in love? She'd dreamed of a time when she might find something like how her mother and father met. Of course Wutai had been at peace then.
The moon had just began to rise over the horizon as Yuffie made her way outside and into the cold night air. Her shoulders prickle as her bare skin is assaulted by the cold. Little did she know, there was someone waiting for her timely exit.
