"Giving you a break." Came the answering taunt, with a smirk coming to his own face. She seemed pretty comfortable on him right then too; it wasn't as if sparring didn't occasionally get intimate, and her weight wasn't really a problem.
Trunks enjoyed sparring with Chinatsu--perhaps more verbally than physically actually. Verbally she was definitely more of a challenge, but he just enjoyed being around her, anyways. Even when she was dragging him out to do normal teenage stuff. Stuff which a few rare of his own recovered memories said he had no reference for. Aside from her flustering him and confusing him with a comment or reference he didn't get (which she seemed baffled he didn't understand), he was very comfortable with her.
Even with his counter-taunt though, he was serious. It was slight--so very slight except Trunks was paying attention to it now. A hint of tremor in her arms, blue-eyes studying her from how she breathed more rapidly to her posture. Trying to discern a hundred little cues--because yes, Chinatsu was in excellent shape. An Athlete and a very good one--but they had been at this a while.
"Seriously, probably time for a break. At least for a change of clothes." He really didn't mean his stare to be more intense. Or for the sudden shift to serious and quiet his voice took on.
