[Bats in the park weren't as unusual--nor was the presence of bats in this city in Japan. But a white-fruit-bat was certainly not normal. So this one is definitely observed (and being discussed) and attracting attention. Fortunately of the...if not friendly, at least neutral-type as well.
Which might explain why it's not much longer before a High-School girl (still in her uniform) with short auburn hair comes running, following a black bat that is leading the way.]
"He-hey, I mean, slow down! It's harder to see you when it's getting darker!"
[She's not alone though, as a boy in the same uniform, and about her age, is running behind her.]
Maaka! Wait!
[Either she hadn't noticed the unfriendly attention crowding the white bat, or she hadn't noticed the white bat yet. But the black bat leading the way has, and slows its headlong flight. It's with some flailing that Karin manages to at least not trip, as she slows to a sudden stop.
Kenta grabbing her arm probably helped, as he certainly noticed what the bat was leading them to.]

Woah...Maaka wait, look!
